L3 Outreach Support

LEVEL 3: Outreach Support

Drop-in Groups
Community outreach supports courses, activities and drop-in groups, it is a relaxed and informal group meeting to provide support and friendship.

Community Well-being Creative Arts Group
The Drop-in group meets at Charis House on Wednesday mornings at 09.30 for two hours.  It is a relaxed and fun supportive group with opportunities for everyone involved to find their creative spark. The group consists of current residents, ex-residents and other women and children from the community.

This is a fun and informal group which in partnership with GNFC, is facilitated by the Community Arts Group. Specialist art therapists guide and train through the whole process from planning to production. Using a wide of media, participants are introduced to new skills, for example Felting, Ceramics, Shadow Puppetry – even a choir!

Thursday Church
Every Thursday at 4.30pm we meet for a short, informal time of worship and discussion about how we can better understand the love of God, this is followed by a meal and time to eat and socialise together. Current residents, ex-residents and members of the community are invited to be part of this time.

Coffee Morning
Join us on the first Friday of every month at 9.15 am for a coffee morning. There will be a wide variety of people, fun and laughter as we meet with existing and new friends as well as having a great time sharing about the vision and work of GNFC. A range of crafts made by the residents and the community will be on sale, everyone is welcome.

Trips and Outings
We also arrange days out, especially in the summer holidays, previously we have been to places such as Chatsworth and Blackpool.

Support in Community
During all of these groups we seek to support people and provide a sense of community for each person.

The group is also consulted about the planning and development of GNFC Services.
